Preservice School Bus Driver Class Schedule and Registration

Attendance on the first day of class is MANDATORY–NO EXCEPTIONS.

Cost is $85.00 per driver payable by purchase order, school/company check made payable to the “Ashtabula County Educational Service Center”, or credit card.
Proof of payment needs to be scanned to laurie.powers@ashtabulaesc.org (e.g., purchase order, receipt of credit card payment, etc.), unless you are including a check if sending by U.S. mail.
This is an individual online program - it is not to be done in a group. Each person will have their own login credentials and must complete their course on their own.
Another new change is van driver drug testing. All new van driver applicants must complete drug testing - it is a new position, new hire for that job. All van drivers must be placed in a random drug testing pool. If you have bus drivers, they cannot be added to that testing pool as CDL holders are subject to testing by federal regulations and van is state. Therefore, you need two separate pools.

A driving performance evaluation and review by a certified on-the-bus instructor (OBI) or by another individual employed and designated by an educational service center, school or district, demonstrating that the driver is accustomed to the vehicle.
All elements of the driving evaluation must be completed (signatures, mileage/time, etc.).
The driving evaluation should take about 45 minutes to complete for each driver, which also includes reviewing the pre-trip inspection.

Preservice Bus Driver Class and Van Driver Online Course Payment

School districts and van companies ONLY are permitted to use this form of payment--individuals are not permitted to pay for their own class or van driver application.
Please note that there is a 3% fee for using a credit card.
